Description

1971 Jaguar XKE 2+2 Coupe Restored V12 5.3L 4 Speed
Matching numbers factory original engine and gear box
This Jag has had a correct ground up restoration completed by XKS Motorsports in San Luis Obispo California. The body was finished in a Porsche Silver that looks stunning on this Big Cat. Upgraded performance options such as shocks have added.

Incredible workmanship in both mechanics as well as body and paint are award winning level. Exterior bumpers, molding and trim have all be re-chromed to show quality.

Interior and Exterior as well as engine rebuild was completed on 2014. Since the completed the car has been driven less than 5K miles here in Southern California. The fit and finish on this 52 year old Jaguar is extremely nice including gaps, hood, doors, rear window etc.

Current ownership dates back to 1990 when the car was purchased from the 2nd owner. This Jaguar XKE has been well cared for by previous owners and it shows.

The Jaguar E-Type Series III introduced the V12 5.3 Litre engine to the model. This raised the car's appeal on paper by having much more exotic specification. Jaguar called it the “Ultimate Cat” and advertised the car's inherent smoothness and absence of engine noise.
Both the Coupe and Roadster were built on the longer 2+2 chassis. This model sports the Moss 4 Speed manual gear box with Moss synchromesh.

Weighing in at 680 lbs (300 kgs) the small block V12 displaced 5.3 liters and produced 314 horsepower. It was an all-new sohc V12 utilizing four Stromberg carburetors.
Much of the E-Type structure had to change to accommodate the new V12 including widening of the engine subframes and a wider track. This included using the Saloon rear subframe assembly which added 3.25 inches of track.
Visually the car had a new eggcrate grill, wheel arch flares, four exhaust tips. Mechanical upgrades included larger brake discs and a larger fuel tank.

Gear Box = Moss 4 speed manual with synchromesh
Compression = 9.0:1
Front Suspension = Wishbones w/Torsion Bars, Hydrualic Telescopic Dampers
Rear Suspension = Half Shafts w/Transverse Links, Twin Coil Springs, Hydrualic Telescopic Dampers
Steering = Rack & Pinion w/Power Assist
Gear Ratios = 2.93:1, 1.90:1, 1.39:1, 1.00:1
Front and Rear Disc Brakes
Fuel Capacity = 18 Gallons

This 1971 Jaguar is driven at least once a month and has had regular service and maintenance preformed over the last 33 years by same owner. Air Conditioning blows cold air + wipers and lights all work as designed. Factory Gauges all function properly. There is an aftermarket AM/FM radio that works and an after market Lecarra Steering wheel. Original Factory un-restored steering wheels comes with the car. Current odometer reading is 13,774 miles. Large folder of files, documents and receipts from the restoration accompany this extraordinary European sports car to the next owner.
